  1. I’ve been in almost every state in the U.S, and I believe you forgot to mention – the nicest people! no other state is like that!

    • You also forgot how in the song Colorado, sung and published by Up With People III, it says “[Colorado’s]… got folks who are rugged and bold”.

  2. The claim of 300 days of sunshine has to the the biggest fraud of any Chamber of Commerce or State Tourism Board in the country. Who cares if it’s sunny when it’s 3 degrees outside?

Additionally, can you please cite where you attained your facts on the education rankings? According to the first-ever list released by the U.S. Department of Education, the state of Colorado ranks 37th out of 53 in 4-year high school graduation rates.

I would certainly say that is lacking. Did you simply mean that Colorado is home to the largest percentage of high school and college graduates, but does not necessarily produce them?

    • The Colorado Paradox is what you’re referring to in your post. Colorado has one of the highest populations of degree holders but only because we import our talent from outside the state. Colorado is actually in the bottom two for having our own high school students complete a degree.

    • And you trust Huffington Post, it was combined H.S. and college.

    • Actually, according to your Huffington Post article that you linked to, Colorado is ranked at 13th with a 74% graduation rate. It was 37th on the list because of numerous states that tied (see the three states ranked at 12th).

    • As a native Minnesotan who received WAY less sun on cold/snowy days all her life, sun when it is 3 degrees outside makes a HUGE difference. I guess what I’m saying is I care if it is sunny when it’s cold! The snow melts so much faster and as a person you are happier overall. Look up seasonal depression and the light they make you sit under as a treatment to the depression (the light acts as the sun and improves your mood…no joke).

    • My house has a side that faces solar south. Right now, my 88 year old mother in law is sitting in the sun warming herself at the patio door, which she does a lot. It’s just above zero on the north side of the house and the heat isn’t even on because it’s so warm from passive solar heat on the south side!

    • Agreed, having lived in chandler Arizona for 20+ years and Denver for 15 I can honestly say there is NO WAY Colorado has more sunny days I’m not just talking about the heat.Days where its not cloudy

    • OK so it actually does matter if it is sunny more days than not. Seattle, Washington has one of the highest suicide rates in the country. Experts believe this is because of a lack of sun shine. So ya it might be 3 degrees outside but the sun is still shining and helping the human body. Learn your facts before you go spouting off.

  3. Wait, we’re letting women vote now? LOL
