If there is no cure for asthma, why have I found 15 people who have cured it?

If there is no cure for asthma why are there 15 people in this world, some of whom went from near fatal asthma attacks, frequent hospitalization and taking multiple medications daily, to now feeling completely comfortable for the last months, years and decades not only leaving the house without their asthma medication and inhalers, but not even having asthma medication in the house.
