#5 Doctor Cures Asthma with Rib Alignments and More
Dr. Dale Peterson spent his first 20 years as an M.D. practicing as most doctors in the United States do: diagnosing “what” patients had, and then prescribing medication. Then he realized the key to actually curing patients was in not only understanding “what” patients had but “why” they had it. Since then, Dr. Peterson has helped many patients overcome and cure numerous diseases, including asthma in adults and children.
Excerpt from Dr. Peterson’s story:
What do you think are the side effects of the long-term use of the inhalers?
It is not so much that I am concerned about the negative impact of the drugs, but about the long-term effects of the inflammation. If the lining of the bronchial tubes is swollen and inflamed, it will cause breakdown over time. My mother, who was 85, passed away a few weeks ago. The cause of death was her lifelong asthma. She developed it early in life. Over time, her bronchial tubes broke down, and her asthma turned into emphysema. Had she known earlier on in her life about various ways to reduce inflammation, she may have been spared getting on oxygen and ultimately dying in the process.
I am very sorry to hear about your mom.
She was ready to go. As death goes, hers was the most ideal I can imagine. The big thing is when we start addressing the underlying causes of an illness, then we can really address things that will add to the quality and quantity of a person’s life.
I am interested in the reaction from your counterparts in the Western medical world regarding your approach.
They think I am weird. Obviously, individual thinking is not tolerated very well in American medicine. It has degenerated into a cookbook approach. When someone comes in with lupus, for example, it is a cookbook approach — “If you have lupus, these are the medicines we prescribe” — rather than asking why they might have it. Have they developed a chronic infection? Do they have a reaction to food? What can we address that might have the answer? American medicine is not open to addressing nutritional concerns or structural concerns. In American medicine, doctors like me are tolerated, but not accepted or endorsed.
The best example I can give you is that I have been in medicine for 40 years. I graduated from medical school in 1972. In the mid-90s, I gradually started taking this mechanism approach and truly saw people starting to get well, as opposed to degenerating over time. When I finally started seeing people get well, I had been a medical professor at the University of Oklahoma and taught for many years. When I started teaching this approach, the university stopped sending me students. After I stopped seeing students for five years, even though I requested them, they pulled my professorship, saying I was inactive and no longer had the title. It was that sort of, “You are not part of the club anymore. You are not following the recipe of diagnose–prescribe, diagnose-prescribe.”
