Asthma Diet

As asthma symptoms are triggered by different environmental, dietary, physiological, psychological, emotional and other elements it would be very challenge to find a one size fits all asthma diet. However, it is also hard to argue that a healthy diet helps everyone, especially those who are afflicted with conditions such as asthma. Further it is hard to argue the preponderance of research and individual stories which point to things that are especially good for asthmatics (anti-inflammatory foods, foods high in Omega-3s) and those which can aggravate, exacerbate or cause asthmatic symptoms (dairy, sugar, wheat).

David’s asthma diet was recommended by his acupuncturist and nutritionist. It contains or restricts many of the same things in the diets of others who have found asthma cures or natural asthma prevention measures via their diet. Further, it contains numerous recommendations made by many holistic nutritionists and dietitian for overall wellness regardless of condition.

Below are recipes and meal ideas which both fit within his asthma diet requirements and are quite tasty.

Breakfast

Fresh fruit

Eggs over easy with asparagus and mushrooms sauteed in onions and garlic

Spelt bread with asparagus pesto

Lunch and Dinner

Cream of Broccoli Soup

Mushroom and Zucchini Curry We make this without the tomatoes.
